9/28 Barn Quilt Painting Class - Leaf

Barn quilts date back hundreds of years, however the first barn quilt tour appeared in 2001 and they’re popping up all over the nation! Be a part of the fun by learning the basics of designing a barn quilt. We will create a square leaf design that can be displayed indoors or outdoors. You will have your choice of many colors to paint, as well as what size you would like to create as well.

Date: Saturday, September 28th
Time: 9am - noon (plan on staying 2-3 hours longer if you choose the larger size)

Materials and supplies are provided, but please bring a hair dryer or if you have one.
Ages:
This class is appropriate for adults and accompanied children 14 and over.
What to bring: A hair dryer if you have one. An apron if you want to protect your clothing. A snack, lunch, or beverage of your choice if you like. We have a refrigerator if you need to use it.

Students will learn:

  • History of barn quilts.

  • How to tape off to paint a barn quilt.

  • Painting techniques for painting barn quilts.

  • Ways to personalize your barn quilt.

  • Instructions to seal and options for hanging your barn quilt.
